Waiting List Validation
Our waiting list validation messages are designed to improve communication with you while you wait for treatment.
We use My Care, our online patient access system, to contact patients regularly during their wait. Every 12 weeks, we’ll check in with you to confirm that you still need to be on our waiting list and to give you the chance to let us know if your needs have changed.
Using My Care is quick and easy. It allows you to respond quickly, and it helps our staff prioritise appointments for patients who still need treatment.
What is Waiting List Validation?
Waiting list validation means we check whether patients still need to stay on the Trust’s waiting list. There are times when you may no longer need treatment, such as:
- Your condition has improved or your symptoms have gone away without treatment.
- You have received treatment elsewhere (privately, in the community, or at another NHS Trust).
We’ll contact you via SMS (text message) with a question about your waiting list status. If you don’t respond, we’ll send two reminder messages. If you’ve opted out of receiving SMS messages, we’ll send you a letter instead.
How Does This Help You?
- Faster and easier communication: You can let us know about your waiting list status quickly and easily.
- Improved experience: You’ll receive updates and information faster, helping us keep you informed.
- Environmentally friendly: By using digital communication, we reduce paper waste and postage costs.
- Accessible to everyone: If you don’t use a mobile phone or prefer not to communicate via SMS, we will write to you.
We are committed to ensuring all patients receive clear and timely communication about their care. If you have any questions, please contact us.
