- Gross Motor delay

Most children will be offered an appointments in our clinic setting at the Crystal Centre but we do also see children within their school or nursery, or in their own homes if this is required.
*Note that the Musculoskeletal (MSK) side of our service was based at Croydon University Hospital until the end of November 2022). We are now all under one roof at the Crystal Centre.
Treatment
The team works closely with families and staff from a wide range of agencies and disciplines, including occupational therapists, school teaching assistance and other hospital based professionals.
Following a period of assessment, the Physiotherapist will usually provide a home and / or school exercise programme to maximise a child’s functional ability. Treatment may include group or 1 to 1 physiotherapy sessions.
Physiotherapists also provide;
- Advice on physical activity, particularly where this is limited by a physical disability or delayed motor skills
- Standing and walking equipment which allows a child to stand supported or walk supported by a walker
- Orthotics (splints and specialist footwear), if required.
