Your journey

If you have any concerns about your fertility, your first step is to speak to your GP who can arrange some initial tests for you and your partner which can include blood tests to determine hormone levels, semen tests and swabs to check for infections.

The evidence shows that maintaining a healthy Body Mass Index (BMI) of under 30 and being a non smoker for at least six months can improve your chances of conceiving. Your doctor might also discuss diet and alcohol advice with you.

If further investigations are needed or it is felt to be appropriate, your GP will refer you to us for further investigations by our fertility specialists.
