The team treat patients who are referred for a number of conditions affecting the ears, nose and throat including deafness, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), ear infections, sinus problems, snoring, voice problems and swallowing difficulties.

The team work closely with Audiology and the Speech and Language Therapy department.

Treatment

ENT surgery is performed at our day surgery unit with the option of laser surgery for certain procedures.  In-patient and emergency cover is given by our surgeons at St George's Healthcare NHS Trust.

How to refer

You can refer to our ENT service via eRS or 2WW only

All referrals from Croydon GP’s should be via Communitas Triage service only

We provide a high-quality secondary care ENT service. NHS England’s GIRFT 2018 review comparing all 127 ENT services in England described us as a ‘Stellar’ service, exemplifying ‘best-practice’.

We can only see patients who fulfil South West London Effective Commissioning Initiative Policy Criteria. Please find our description of services on E-RS. There are four adult ENT services and four Paediatric ENT services listed. There are very specific inclusion and exclusion criteria.

‘General’ adult ENT is not offered as a service at CUH as patients that need medical management and investigation beyond primary care but do not fulfil the E-RS inclusion criteria for our services, should be managed by Communitas, the Croydon community intermediate ENT service.

Vertigo and balance problems, sensori-neural hearing loss and tinnitus should be referred to Audiology Services at CUH.
