About us

The Trust provides a diabetes service covering all aspects of general and specialist diabetes care

Service overview

The service provides seamless diabetes care to the people of Croydon, whether they are seen in hospital, at a community clinic, in general practice or at home. 

The service provides inpatient care for patients with diabetes and outpatient services for patients with type 1 diabetes and complex type 2 diabetes, including patients with complications and co-morbidities.

The diabetes specialist nursing service provides education and support to patients and peers in the acute setting and provides outpatient support for patient under the care of the diabetologist. Outpatient clinics are held at Croydon University and Purley War Memorial Hospital. 

The service also provides community-based specialist care and group patient education from local venues across the borough, providing access to consultants, diabetes specialist nurses and dietitians closer to home.

Attend Anywhere

During the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, all appointments will be carried out using Attend Anywhere (video consultation) or on the telephone unless it is absolutely necessary to see you in person, in which case we will arrange a face to face appointment in safe setting.  

If you have an appointment booked with us, you can click here to make a test call in advance and to enter the virtual waiting room. If you are not in the virtual waiting room when it is time for your appointment, the clinician will phone you - please check your appointment letter includes the correct phone number.
